Academic Resources

Below are links to some of the academic resources offered by UGA Griffin to students. For more information, contact the Office of Academic and Student Affairs.

Advising & Registration

Registering for classes and adjusting class schedules, including dropping and adding classes, are some of the options available to students through Athena, the UGA registration system. Additional information is provided by the Office of the Registrar.

Because of the breadth of academic programs available at the University of Georgia and the unique requirements of many programs, academic advising is handled by the individual schools and colleges. UGA Griffin students are advised on site each semester by the academic advisor for their program of study.

UGA Bulletin

Use the UGA Bulletin to explore and compare majors, minors and certificates, as well as to research courses to take.

Academic Honesty

The University of Georgia seeks to promote and ensure academic honesty and personal integrity among students and other members of the university community.

Every student must agree to abide by UGA’s academic honesty policy and procedures known as A Culture of Honesty, when applying for admission to the University of Georgia.

Disability Services

The Disability Resource Center (DRC) handles the scheduling & facilitation of accommodations for those with disabilities. If you require disability accommodations or would like more information, please follow the link below.

Experiential Learning

At UGA, Experiential Learning is designed to deliver impact – for our communities, and above all, for our students. Experiential Learning can elevate a student’s trajectory, enhance competencies and enable opportunities, now and for years to come – that is why it’s a required part of every UGA degree.

We are committed to Experiential Learning, and we are invested in doing it right for every student. As a leader in higher education, we are uniquely able to open virtually any door or blaze any path to create programs that enhance every field of study. We help students find and nurture the powerful connections that make experiences count.

Check out UGA’s Engage Georgia Portal to learn about EL opportunities, connect with others, find campus groups, reach community partners, and attend events. Learn more about experiential learning by visiting the UGA Experiential Learning link below.

Library

The UGA Griffin Campus library is a branch of the University of Georgia Libraries located in the Stuckey Building and is available to you. There are also librarians on staff to help you with your research papers & projects. Learn more at the library page below.

New Student Orientation

Undergraduate orientation is a one-day session held before the start of the fall and spring semesters, typically during the week before classes start. The sessions consist of presentations by Academic Affairs and Student Affairs regarding policies/procedures and general academic and campus information. After the session, students have the opportunity to meet with program coordinators, as well as with representatives of the Office of Student Financial Aid and the Office of the Registrar; to interact with UGA-Griffin faculty, staff, and continuing students; to gain access to their UGA MyID and email account; and to receive access cards that allow them to open campus gates and gain access to some campus buildings after hours.

Graduate students are given a brief orientation session on the first night of class.
