Interdisciplinary Studies (A.B.) Psychology Concentration

The Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) with an Interdisciplinary Studies major and Psychology concentration provides a solid foundation for careers in industrial, management, adoption/child care services, health and human services, public relations, human resources, education, law enforcement/corrections, marketing, communications, training, data analysis, etc. The Psychology concentration also prepares students for graduate programs in counseling, psychology, social work, human resources, and the social sciences.

Campus Entry Requirements

  • Completion of at least 60 semester hours of transferable college credit by the application deadline.
  • Transfer GPA of at least 3.00 as calculated by the UGA Undergraduate Admissions Office.
  • Completion of high school at least one year prior to term of enrollment at UGA Griffin.
  • Completion of at least one year of college by the term of intended enrollment.

Degree Entry Requirements

The following courses must be completed to qualify for admission to the program:

Students must have a 2.50 overall GPA across these three courses, with no grade below a C in any of them: PSYC 1101, STAT 2000, and a biology course with lab (BIOL 1103-1103L, BIOL 1104-1104L, BIOL 1107-1107L, or BIOL 1108-1108L).

Students are strongly encouraged to have completed a biology lab sequence (BIOL 1103-1103L and 1104-1104L, or BIOL 1107-1107L and 1108-1108L) before entering the AB/IDS/PSYC degree program.
