Have an interest in growing plants, but don’t really know where or how to begin? Our garden workshop series at the UGA Research and Education Garden provides a great way to get started exploring different types of plants, how to grow them, and ways to use them in everyday life. The 2-hour workshop format includes time in both the classroom and the garden, while our virtual option allows you to learn about the topic from home. Both versions will be enjoyable for gardeners of every experience level.

Many of us are familiar with basic culinary herbs, like basil and oregano, but we may not be familiar with other herbal plants grown for flowers, foliage, and fragrance. This hands-on workshop will explore new herbs that you can grow for your kitchen or garden interests, and you just might get to take one home!
